Grady Moseley, Senior Pastor


Grady Moseley was born in New Orleans and grew up hunting and fishing in the salt marshes of southern Louisiana.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington.  He then built houses in Washington and Idaho before entering Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, where he earned a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Christian Education.  He was ordained in New Bern, North Carolina, at First Presbyterian Church in 1983 and a year later married Kim Latham, a native of eastern North Carolina.  Together they moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, where Grady earned a Master of Theology at NewCollege of the University of Edinburgh.  Returning to the U.S., Grady received a call toFirst Presbyterian Church in Fairmont, WV, and then to Amity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.  In 1997 he left full time ministry, and started and managed a construction company for 20 years.  All the while, he served as Parish Associate at Westminster Presbyterian Church and was at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Charlotte before joining Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church.  Kim practices health coaching and psychotherapy in her own firm, Healthy Pathways, and is a guide for an international adventure company. Together they have two adult sons, Cameron and Latham. 

Laura Rasmussen, Associate Pastor

Laura joined Mallard Creek Church in September 2014 as the Associate Pastor and has been excited to work with their ministries in missions and Christian education/formation. She was born and raised in Omaha, NE, and went to college at Northwest Missouri State University and seminary at Fuller Theological Seminary. Laura worked for 1 year with AmeriCorp on the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Reservation, lived in Jackson Hole, WY for 5 years, and in Los Angeles for 10 years. She loves traveling and the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, playing softball and scrabble. Laura dreams of being a race car driver.

Kenneth Craig, Parish Associate

Rev. Craig and his wife Nancy are deeply rooted in the MCPC community. Rev. Craig served as the lead pastor for Mallard Creek for over 20 years. He then served as a Parish minister with First Presbyterian in downtown Concord, before returning to MCPC to serve in the same position. His relentless care and compassion for members, friends and family of Mallard Creek is an undeniable God-given gift that we are so thankful to have.

David Barnaba,  Director of Music Ministries

David is our Director of Music Ministries at Mallard Creek. David is no stranger to working in music, and has grown up in a musical family. His Grandfather played in many bands, and his mother is a private piano instructor in South Carolina. David is a graduate of the Crane School of music in Potsdam, NY and has a degree in music education. He is a full-time elementary music teacher at Pitts School Road Elementary, is married to his wife Tara, and has a 2 year old daughter, Clara.


Meet Cathy Marlor, Financial Secretary

Cathy has worked for churches and nonprofits for the past 30 years. She and her husband, Mike have 3 sons, 2 beautiful daughter in-laws, 3 adorable grandchildren and one dog. In their free time, Cathy and Mike enjoy camping in the NC mountains.

Shawn Watkins, Administrative Assistant

Shawn joined Mallard Creek Presbyterian in December of 2015 and cares for the many details that are involved in assisting the church body. After spending 17 years with Love, Inc. her compassion and love for people is something that she is excited to continue utilizing as she gets to know the MCPC family.
